Here is a project Tartan 27 with coastal cruising potential. I restored it inside and out in 2011, but now she needs work again. I moved to Utah last year, and want to sell before she degrades any further.
The Good? - Beautiful Tartan lines - Interior Teak - Solid decks (No soft spots) - Backing plates on deck hardware - Functioning winches/running rigging - Ocragreenmarine LED Tricolor. (Cost me $500) - Masthead VHF Antenna - Lighting deflector - Radar reflector - Complete standing rigging - Solid tiller/rudder post bracket - Two Genoas and storm jib in good to fair condition - LED interior lighting (3 fixtures have red light settings) - Working submarine-type Bilge Pump - Entire boat re-wired in 2011 - New cabin cushions in 2012 - Moroccan style cabin rug - Refinished/painted interior in 2011. (Including the bilge) - Reinforced/sealed cabin subfloors - Reliable 30HP Universal Engine (Replaced the orginal Atomic 4 in 1995) - Grocco brass water strainer - Two new marine batteries in Dec 2016 (1 House, 1 Starting) - Triple axle goose-neck trailer (with new seals and bearings in 2011, new tires in 2018)
The Bad? - Engine/prop-shaft alignment (Currently, kicks the prop shaft off) - Main sail is good as a spare; that's about it - pinched wire in red/green steaming lights - Needs a new forward facing white steaming light - oil leaks from around the dipstick tube (just enough to make the bilge dirty) - Portlights need new caulk - Brass turnbuckles are old - Needs a new VHF radio - Needs a new barrier coat below the waterline (Some shallow blisters have developed) - Manual bilge pump doesn't work
The Ugly - Needs deck paint - Scratched blue topside paint - Flaking white bootstripe - Interior paint on the starboard side in the V-berth is cracking
In a nutshell, if you want to sail for a couple of years, this may be a good investment of time and money for you. For $12-14000, she could be a capable little cruiser. |
