Description:
**The boat was sold November 2018**

Built on the Chesapeake in Maryland, this 1973, Dickerson 36-foot center cockpit ketch is perfect for sailing the bay and coastal waters. With its modified full keel, fine entry, and overbuilt rigging, offshore passages are within reach as well. Dickerson sailboats are well respected, solid cruisers, garnering praise from sailors for decades, including Ferenc Mate in his world recognized book, The Worlds Best Sailboats. In addition to being a very enjoyable boat to sail, owning provides an opportunity to join The Dickerson Owners Association. It is an active group with excellent support of its members and regular meetings and opportunities to sail together.

There are a number of welcome features in 36-foot Dickerson sailboats including, solid fiberglass hull, spacious engine compartment, excellent storage below deck and in the cockpit lockers, all bronze deck hardware, and easy access to all mechanical systems. The cabins provide sleeping for 6, including a private aft cabin. The cockpit has seating for 8.

Restoration on this Dickerson began in 2013 with the replacement of the engine and conversion to electric propulsion, allowing for sailing opportunities as the updating continued. Clean, quiet electric power has the added advantage of essentially no maintenance and winterizing is not needed, providing year-round sailing. A full set of 260 amp-hour AGMs are newly installed August 2018 giving ample power to drive the boat at hull speed. Other significant areas of restoration include removing and re-bedding all the deck hardware, painting the boat with Awlgrip and nonskid. Custom rub rails were built for the boat in addition to a new teak bowsprit.

Offered for sale at $24,000 by the owner and located in Deltaville, Virginia.
