Shoal depth keel and tall rigging make it easy to cruise at 6 knots under sail with 12 to 15 knots of wind. The Autoprop is excellently suited to motor sailing. Let the engine run at 1000 to 1200 RPM and it will automatically adjust the pitch to keep you moving at hull speed even in light wind. When you have good wind the prop feathers out to add no drag. The engine will run for 100 hours on 1 tank of fuel. Carry 4-5 gallon cans of fuel and stretch it to 200 hours. Open ocean sailing you won't need fuel for months.
