27' Starwind 27 SD

Starwind 27 SD is a Jim Taylor designed and Wellcraft built sailboat and this one features multiple custom upgrades to enhance sailing performance and cruising comfort that you wont find in any similar sailboat. This boat looks impressive on the water and sails very well, with a respectable PHRF (NE) = 186. Fabulous upgrades. Very clean, very well maintained. This boat has robust equipment and creature comforts to make sailing pleasurable in the bay and on the ocean. Selling to move on to a larger sailboat.

The interior is clean and spacious for a small pocket cruiser. There is plenty of light and ventilation with 2 new custom fixed lights and 2 new Lewmar vented lights on both sides of the cabin installed in 2018. The V-berth hatch is a new Lewmar Ocean Series hatch installed this year. The teak and holly flooring is new this year. The galley features hot and cold pressure water system, 2-burner alcohol stove and insulated ice box.

Auxilary power is a Yanmar 2YM15 inboard engine with just 200 hours, installed in 2013 and it has yearly maintenance. The power output of this engine means that the boat never lacks for power when beating into waves and current.

This boat needs to be seen to be appreciated for all of the upgrades and improvements that have been made recently.

All new standing rigging was replaced in 2017 with new ss double lifelines and gates on both sides. New installation included the Harken Mk iv furler.

Electrical Upgrades:
New cabinetry for upgraded electrics was installed in 2017. New Blue Seas DC and AC panels with modern rocker switches and breakers. AC includes ELCI protection.

New Sterling 30 Amp Charger. New galvanic isolator.

Blue Sea Auto Charging Relay and Xantrex Linkpro Battery Monitor.

Safety switches isolate house bank, start battery and alternator. New battery selector switch.

2 Group 27 batteries for house bank new in 2018. 1 Group 24 start battery new in 2018.

Electronic Upgrades:
New B G Vulcan 7 chartplotter with sailing features installed in 2019 mounted at helm.

2 New B G Triton displays installed in 2019. Simrad analog wind display is integrated with the new system.

New wind sensor and depth/speed transducers installed in 2019.

All electronics are integrated with NMEA 2000 backbone system.

Simrad Wheel Pilot is an old model but brand new instrument installed in 2019, integrated for sail-steer with Simrad wind display.

New B G VHF with AIS receiver installed in 2019.

Plumbing Upgrades:
New Isotherm 5-gallon water heater installed in 2017 with new plumbing and faucets. New hot and cold transom shower fixture. Vanity faucet for pressurized cold water only.

New Shurflo 4-gpm pump for water pressure installed in 2017.

New 15 gallon stainless steel water tank installed in 2017.

New Raritan toilet pump installed this year. New sanitary hoses installed this year. Y-valve replaced in 2018.

Engine and Fuel System Upgrades:
New Yanmar 2YM15 engine installed professionally in 2013 with all new components. New instrument panel.

New 11-gallon aluminum fuel tank. All new hoses.

New Vetus exhaust system and hoses.

Window upgrades:
4 new Boman custom aluminum-framed fixed windows replaced the old plastic-framed windows in 2018.

4 new Lewmar opening port lights were upgraded in size and location for ventilation in 2018.

A new Lewmar Ocean Series hatch has been installed in the V-berth this year to replace an original hatch.

All tackle and gear is highest quality Schaeffer, Harkin, Lewmar, Spinlock, etc. All lines led aft for safety & convenience. Rigged for symmetrical spinnaker.

Sail inventory includes North Mainsail, North 150 Genoa, NP 110 Jib, Spinnakers (2).
