Purebred racer designed by Nelson and Marek off San Diego and built by a famous boatyard in Auckland, New Zealand. The builder is well known for building high end world class performance sailboats like Maxi and cantering keel racers, famous World Cup Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team, AC 72s, Cookson 50 winner of Rolex Race, etc. Check Cookson Boats on the FB and Luna Rossa challenge website to see what those guys build. This 40 Nelson Marek is one of that family of racers.
Six sails (3 are Carbon), array of ST winches, Destroyer wheel, rod rigging, plus all the bells and whistles of a perfect racer. She is not your average Catalina or Hunter. Two head sails: 90% and 140% on hanks, both Carbon Main is Carbon. 3 spinnakers.
Beautiful Awlgrip purple hull is one of a kind. Perkins 4-108 diesel is running as it should. Hydraulic rigging tuning and rigid boom vang. Three spreader mast. 2018 Simrad VHF, 2018 B&G Chart Plotter Last haulout 2019 w bottom paint, still good. Solid deck. Galley and marine head.
This beauty can be taken out of the slip at any time, although a general spring cleaning and systems familiarization would be a good idea.
