28' Captial Yachts Newport 28

She's been a fantastic Family Cruiser and Racing boat for us since 2008. Since 2017 she's been getting less love and our local marina is going out of business. Now she's moored too far away for us to use often.

The mainsail is in good condition. The jib leech tore in a race and I have hank on jib but not a roller fuller anymore.

I would replace the sheets and haylard before I went for more than a day or weekend in fair weather. They were used from 2008 to 2017 A LOT.

There WAS a small water leak on the port side in the main cabin. It doesn't appear to have cause issues but I would look at prevention options. I put sealant around the port stays and it appears to have stopped the slow leak.

Honda Outboard motor. Has been dependable but hasn't been ran a lot recently so could use a service.

The doger is also old and doesn't fit quiet as well as she used to. However, you can fully enclose the cockpit which is fantastic for sailing in the rain and winter. You can use propane heat for the cabin and enclose the cockpit for sailing very comfortably in cold/wet weather conditions. The doger also provides a great deal of shade during summer camping.

She's a great boat and she'll give back a lot more love than what you give her.
