Description: |
This stylish little pocket yacht is both the first and smallest boat ever produced by Sabre Yachts, a quality production boatbuilder based in southern Maine. Designed by the companys founder, Roger Hewson, and introduced in 1971, the Sabre 28 was the only boat produced by Sabre until 1977. Production did not cease until 1986, by which time 588 hulls had been launched. Since its founding by Roger Hewson more than 20 years ago, Sabre Yachts has excelled at building boats under 40 feet. The old Sabre 28 is certainly one of the best pocket cruisers ever marketed.
She is waiting for adventure on the water but needs an owner with more time available to do so. We acquired this boat last fall and have realized we do not have the time available currently to use her or get her water ready, but dont want to make her wait on us. She needs some TLC work was begun, parts are present, distance to travel for weekend repairs / use has proven unrealistic with our schedules, but we want her to have a chance to get back out in the water sooner than later.
She is currently out of the water, mast is stored and wrapped, ready for transport to her new destination. |
Equipment: |
She runs a two-cylinder Volvo Penta Diesel Engine Sleeps 6, dining table that folds down and stores easily Ice box, 2 burner stove, deck grill, plenty of drawers and storage, custom cushions
Includes 2 sets of sails in excellent shape, attractive Bimini cover over the cockpit and helm, wheel steering, swim ladder, solar powered battery, and much more. |
