After taking possession of Oasis in 2018, she was repowered with a new Volvo D2-40. Cockpit drain hoses replaced along with a completely refurbished engine compartment and fuel tanks cleaned. Fuel lines were replaced. The teak deck was removed by a previous owner, but a poor application required complete removal and resurfacing by Generation III Cambridge, MD. No blisters, but the bottom was sandblasted to remove multiple layers of bottom paint. The surface was sanded, epoxied and the bottom painted. At the end of each season Generation III cleans stores and repaints each season. Oasis has a custom mast rig that allows the mast to be lowered to go under bridges. The orginal owner installed this to make the trek through the canals and low bridges in France. Other equipment includes Garmin radar and chart plotter, Lewmar Profish windlass (bow and cockpit controls), new lifelines, autopilot, Lazy Jacks and sailcover from HR, bow pump to clean the anchor and deck (a must for the muddy Chesapeake Bay), Origo alcohol stove and other upgrades. |
