SV USHAS is a professionally modernized Doug Peterson / Formosa 46 offshore cruising yacht later extended by Hinckley Yachts to approximately 51ft / 15.5m with integrated stern extension and honeycomb composite decking.
Over the past several years the vessel has undergone extensive systems modernization and documented refit work focused on offshore reliability, energy independence, and practical long-range liveaboard cruising capability.
Major 2025 work completed at RAM Marina Rio Dulce included professional hull and deck refinishing, Awlgrip detailing, bottom service, charging/electrical modernization, systems integration, and ongoing infrastructure improvements.
Highlights include Perkins Marine 4.236 85HP diesel repower (1399 hrs), professionally integrated Victron electrical architecture, approximately 1000Ah Epoch Marine Elite LiFePO4 lithium bank, 800W solar, Balmar/WakeSpeed charging integration, Raymarine Axiom navigation suite with Quantum radar, Hood mast and roller furling system, Mack sails, dual Frigoboat refrigeration systems, dual Ocean Breeze marine A/C systems, standup engine room/workshop, and substantial fuel/water capacity.
Two-stateroom liveaboard layout with two private heads and separate shower arrangements.
Currently operational, actively cruising, and presently visiting Lupern, Dominican Republic with practical delivery range throughout the Caribbean, Florida, Puerto Rico, USVI/BVI, and Atlantic crossing routes.
