FOR SALE: 27' Sun Yacht Sloop s/v Barcelona, a 1979 Sun Yacht 27. $3,500 This cruiser was built in the Pacific Northwest, but sold first by a dealer in Wisconsin, likely spending its entire life in the Great Lakes. A solid, comfortable cruiser, but she performs admirably in heavy wind with the mainsail and newer 135 Genoa from Kent Sails, with a hull speed of nearly 8 knots. The hull style was designed by famed naval architect Ed Monk Jr., and sold under several names for just a few years in the late 70s and early 80s, so it's a rare jewel of quality craftsmanship. Only 175 of these were ever built. Recent upgrades include: Updated electronics, such as a gently used Garmin 70s Chartplotter with platinum charts and new in-hull transducer for depth data, and a brand new (2022) Raymarine ST40 Windmeter. Gimbaled stove was removed and replaced with a mini-fridge. Microwave and Marine Radio included. Sale price includes a custom cradle for storage, currently at Island Harbor Marina in St. Clair Shores, MI.
