45' Custom Tom Colvin

Nothing beats the strength of steel!

This Colin Archer design was professionally built in Victoria, Canada and has been very well maintained since launch. Her Mitsubishi S4S diesel has only 200 hours and she has a new prop, flexible coupling, stern tube, stern bearing and line cutter.
Callisto is far better than many other similar boats. Here are some of the reasons why:

*This design, Doxy, has about 40% more interior volume than the cramped but better-known Gazelle design.
*The lead filled keel is one foot deeper than the original design, approved by Colvin, greatly improving stability and upwind sailing performance.
*Deck modified to include doghouse rather than double cabins as in plan (approved by Colvin).
*After construction the entire boat was sandblasted inside and out, and then the deck and house were hot zinc flame-sprayed (galvanized) including inside and outside of gunnels, followed by five coats of Devoe Bar-Rust 235 epoxy paint sprayed on and topcoated with alkyd enamel.
*Bilge areas have ten coats of that epoxy paint!

*2020 Hull bottom sand blasted, three coats of coal-tar epoxy applied, and three coats of antifouling paint applied.

Callisto is a fully outfitted cruising yacht which will fulfill the needs of a knowledgeable, discriminating owner.
