Rancho Relaxo A 1985 Hunter 40, GRP masthead sloop with long chord cast iron fin keel (2 metres draft) & spade rudder, 13.5 feet max beam; Australian registered ship 857678. Purchased in San Diego 2004, sailed to Australia & tax (GST) paid in 2005. Currently located in Langkawi, Malaysia & includes a swing mooring (freehold, no rent) in the basin entrance to Telaga Harbour Marina. Same live aboard owners since 2004. Quick, responsive easily handled boat under sail or power. Many current upgrades including new standing rigging July 2024. Accomodation 2 cabin 2 head layout, V berth forward with small head to starboard, queen sized island berth aft with larger head to port accessed from both aft cabin & salon which eases movement within the boat considerably with 2 pathways fore & aft. Aft berth has innerspring mattress. Galley L shaped to starboard of the large companionway steps with stainless steel & teak handholds. Twin stainless steel sinks, 3 burner Princess gas stove with oven, 120 VAC microwave (Inverter powered). Top opening large refrigerator (can make ice cubes if required), front opening drinks fridge (currently disabled), 2 x BD 35 air cooled compressors located in aft cabin with good access with digital controller and seperate AC/DC chest refrigerator / freezer on an aft cabin shelf used as a freezer. L shaped settee to starboard & straight settee/sea berth to port either side of large drop leaf table secured to the dedicated mast compression post. Aft facing chart table with storage to port Good handholds (standard & 2 x additional teak) throughout. Fiddle rails at galley & table. Numerous cupboards & draws throughout. |

Engine Economical Yanmar 4JHE 44 HP, 1 bronze shaft & 2 blade fixed bronze prop, bronze P strut, all underwater appendages (includes through hulls & seacocks) marine bronze for electrolysis protection. 214 hours recorded on the after market hour meter when purchased in 2004, now 2030 total hours recorded on the since replaced new Hobbs hour meter. Yanmar type B2 engine control panel with RPM counter, warning lights, buzzers & key start; perspex cover fitted & manual stop cable at companionway stairs. Primary Raycor basket type fuel filter (good access) fitted in addition to engine mounted filter. Oil changes app every 100 hours. Records since 2004 present. New alternator, starter motor, mixing elbow, fuel lift pump & select exhaust hose. All engine hoses replaced in this ownership; original hoses present as spares. Cutlass bearing replaced about 30 engine hours ago. Electrics DC 2 x 370 watt (Canadian Solar) solar panels, SRNE 40 amp MPPT controller (ML2440) & additional external monitor. Air X 400 watt wind generator with spare blade set (not currently installed as removed to place larger solar array) with breaker, cabling in place and stop switch. 2 x 200 AH LifePo4 batteries in parallel with T class fuses. Engine start sealed lead acid battery. Combining battery switch hard wired; busbar covered connections. Heart Interface display for volts, amps in/out/consumed etc and inverter activation. 100 amp Balmar alternator with 614 Balmar 3 stage external regulator, battery & alternator temperature sensors. Numerous (28) DC breakers including 3 lighting groups. 2 x DC outlets (cigarette lighter type) with dual USB plugs for 4 x device simultaneous charging. LG 22 inch flat screen TV & DVD, CD stereo & 4 speakers. LED interior lighting, navigation lights and tri colour/anchor light at masthead. AC Vessel originally wired for 120 VAC so wiring is more than adequate for all 240 VAC functions. Pro Mariner 40 amp 90-270 VAC input battery charger accepts world wide power. AC input rotary selection switch ensures a single AC input only, Shore-off-inverter. Heart Interface 120 VAC 2000 watt inverter wired to all ships USA pattern (international adapters present) AC outlets; main breaker & 3 group breakers, (Port, Starboard & Aft), plus hot water breaker & spares. 2000 watt voltage transformer if required. 1000 watt 240 VAC output additional inverter. In summary the electrical system is balanced and self sustainable away from the dock, no engine running or shore power used for battery charging since 2019 upgrades. Electronics Em-trak AIS with dedicated VHF antenna, Lowrance Hook 7 chart plotter & sonar. Raymarine ST 4000 wheel pilot as back up, Raymarine pilot with new Octopus electric hydraulic linear drive (will steer in event of steering failure) as primary auto pilot. Raymarine Tri Data I 60. No current radar but mount & cables for Simrad or B&G in place. Standard Horizon fixed VHF & Uniden handheld with battery tray. EPIRB battery expired. Deck gear/canvas Spinnaker pole with mast storage & adjustable mast track. Cockpit adjustable solid boom vang, 7 self tailing Maxwell winches, recessed genoa tracks, open aluminium alloy toe rail for attachment points and quick draining. |
