36' J Boats J/36

Super fun and solid classic J-boat racer-cruiser. Bought from the original owners family 5 years ago, and have been restoring it slowly since then. I have done lots of work, bought new sails, tons of new rigging and hardware, and have loads of fun cruising and racing Betegeuse. You can sleep 6 for a fun overnight or race with between 6 and 8. Has a small head and galley is generally comfy down below.

This is the predecessor to the J/35, with the same hull mold but fitted out with a more complicated and taller rig, and I think originally more amenities down below. J/boats 3rd boat J/24 - J/30, J/36), when powered up its a blast.

Deck is in great shape. Hull was professionally media-blasted, faired, and epoxy coated in 2022.

Selling because life is moving on. It was a great project, and time for something new.

Mainsail: Excellent. Doyle (Mamaroneck) new in 2024.
Cruising Jib 115%: Good. Doyle (Mamaroneck) new in 2023.
Racing Genoa: 135%, Excellent. Doyle.
Racing Genoa: 150%. Old. Made by North Sails.
Asymmetrical Spinnaker: A2. Excellent, Made in 2023. Red and White by Sobstad. For cruising its in a new snuffer sock by ATN purchased new through Doyle.
Symmetrical Spinnaker: Old and tired, green and yellow.
Black Mainsail cover new in 2022.

Instruments:
(2) B&G Triton2 displays on bulkhead. Reworked the entire system to NMEA2000 backbone.
B&G wind instrument, B&G WS310 installed in 2025. Will be removed for winter storage.
2023 Airmar DS810 installed in 2023.
Fully restored binnacle compass with NO BUBBLE.
Bulkhead Ritchie compass in good working order.
Orca Core installed in 2023.

Electrical is all fully functional.
LiFePo house battery installed 2024.
50W Solar charging. New starting battery 2024.

New head plumbing 2025, 11 gal holding tank.

Pretty much all new running rigging over the last 5 years. New forestay in 2022. Upper spreader ends replaced professionally 2025.

All hatches replaced with Lewmar 2023.

Custom bowsprit and bobstay fabricated and installed 2024.

Profurl C350 Headsail furler. In great shape.
