CERCERELLE is one of three Rozinante yawls commissioned by L. Francis Herreshoff himself and built at the O. Lie Nielsen Boatyard in Rockland, Maine.
The keels were laid in 1972 and work progressed fastest on CERCERELLE which was launched in the fall of that year. The second boat in the group was named ROZINANTE and launched in the spring of 1973, a few months after L.Francis died.
Little can be said of the beauty and performance of the Rozinante that was not said better by LF Herreshoff himself in The Complete Cruiser or by Roger C Taylor in Thirty Classic Boat Designs
CERCERELLEs varnished mahogany hull is in excellent condition and the cosmetics throughout have been professionally maintained at a very high standard. She is a most faithful interpretation of this iconic design, right down the cedar bucket and 10 oar.
In 2020 CERCERELLE had all of the frames throughout her cockpit replaced, and a new interior built with a double berth and a hidden porta-pottie. Included (but not installed) is a 2020 Torqeedo electric pod drive with all controls/components and Lithium batteries.
