The Arpege is a classic plastic, among the first mass produced fiberglass production boats in the world, that has held up extremely well through the decades. Roughly 1,500 of these boats were produced between 1966 and 1976, and they can be found all over the world, though most of them are still in Europe. Key data and specifications for the arpege can be found here: https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/arpege-30-dufour/

Ive owned Daimonion for the last 15 years but have actually been sailing on her for nearly 30 years as she was previously owned by a close friend of mine. His father originally purchased the boat back in 1969 in Greece, making me only the third owner in 60 years. She spent her first few years in the Mediterranean, then the bulk of her life down in Buzzards Bay, and the last 15 years here in Maine and she has been deeply loved by all three of her owners.
Daimonion is in very good shape overall, though shes obviously not a new sailboat and so has her share of usual wear and tear for a boat her age. On the other hand, shes a rock solid ship and her relative simplicity and lack of complicated boat systems makes her easy to own and to sail. Shes been the perfect boat for our young family to enjoy both day trips and multi day cruises in Casco bay and around southern Maine for the last 15 years, and it will be exceedingly difficult for us to say goodbye, so were really interested in seeing her go to a good new home. |
