28' J Boats J-28

The 28 foot J/28 is a well-regarded sailboat known for its performance and comfort. Built between 1986 and 1988, only 75 boats were produced. It is designed as a stable, fast pocket cruiser, making it suitable for both experienced sailors and novices.
The cockpit features a T-shaped cockpit designed for comfort, It includes a leather covered 40-inch wheel for better control. Included is a new Sunbrella helm and binnacle cover.
The boat offers spacious sleeping arrangements, including a V-berth and two main berths that are 61/4 feet long and 26 inches wide. Cockpit cushions are also included.
The boat is equipped with six opening ports and three overhead hatches, ensuring good airflow, keeping the interior cool.
The Sail Plan is designed with a large mainsail and smaller jibs, making it easier to handle in various conditions. The boat effectively sails under mainsail alone in a breeze, just like a Sunfish or a Laser! Included are a like new North RAT carbon main and 155% genoa.
Halyard controls are led back to the cockpit, allowing for easier sail management by a couple.
The bottom has been stripped to bare fiberglass and repainted with Interlux 2000 barrier coat, and refreshed last spring. The bottom is maintained monthly by a professional diver.
Auxillary power is supplied by a 2 cylinder Yanmar diesel inboard engine.
