Description: |
This lovely Oyster 43 is a wonderful performance cruising yacht with sleek lines. Solid and strong, built in the UK by Oyster Marine and designed by Stephen Jones. These boats, including this one have circumnavigated the globe safely and quickly. Nepenthe was the first Oyster to be bought by an American buyer and the first Oyster to be shown at the Annapolis boat show in 1985. This boat has been owned by only four owners in her history, the second of which had her for over 20years and circumnavigated. Shes now ready for a new caretaker. She sits in Panama in the lovely cruising grounds of Bocas del Toro and is ready to continue back to the Caribbean or to cross into the Pacific. Built with two double cabins and a single head with shower plus three sea berths and a convertible saloon, the fore cabin has been converted to a storage and larger chain locker but could be reinstated as originally designed. Repowered in 2012 with a Volvo 40 hp diesel, now with just over 900 hours and with standing rigging from 2016. She is fitted for long distance cruising with solar panels, Spectra water maker, Monitor wind vane steering plus a Cetrek autopilot, Raymarine instruments, a Garmin Plotter and SSB She has been stored on the hard for the past 18 months, and while the cleaning has been kept up regularly, she shows well but will have some obvious recommisioning and tidying to do upon launch. She just has bottom paint applied, and the owner is supplying a new mainsail cover as the one onboard now is sacrificial. She boats a good sail inventory, plenty of anchors, shes a good long distance cruiser and live aboard yacht with an excellent pedigree. |
