36' Lancer Lancer 36

Magic Carpet is a 1980 Lancer 36, a Californian-built boat that has had only two owners, with which we crossed the Pacific from Mexico.

It ran aground last August, which affected the keel, rudder, and starboard hull. Thanks to its solid construction, and although it spent 48 hours on the reef, no water ingress occurred.

The starboard hull has been professionally repaired, the keel has been secured and fiberglassed, and although it no longer has the same offshore performance, the boat is fully functional for lagoon sailing and onboard living. It also represents an interesting renovation project, with a solid base for a vessel capable of transoceanic racing, world cruising, or simple lagoon outings.
