Description: |
Will post my own interior pictures soon, meanwhile look at https://www.sailboatlistings.com/view/29135
that one offered at $15,000 !
also https://www.theyachtmarket.com/en/boats-for-sale/freedom/30/id2825172/ (disregard the teak deck shown, ours is fibreglass/gel coat).
Excellent solid boat with much interior teak. Either a great upgrade or starter boat for you.
Stove. Oven. Shower. Sleeps up to six.
Sails and sail cover just redone by North Sails.
Diesel engine replaced last year (the popular/reliable Yanmar 2GM).
Self-furling propeller (reduces drag like 85%).
NO STANDING RIGGING carbon fibre mast stands alone, keeps deck open, and no worries about expensive rigging repairs/replacement.
Sails true, you can walk away from the wheel and she will hold her course; also heads up-wind well.
Rigging lines in good condition, mooring and docking lines included.
Windows replaced and caulked in, while no boat is utterly water-tight, the water in our bilge did not rise at all over the whole winter;
Comes with custom steel cradle for winter storage on land.
DEFECTS (full disclosure):
While she is turn-key ready to sail right now heres what might need attention at some point:
- the upholstery needs cleaning and repair (cosmetic issue); you could - ignore - cover with blankets - buy slipcovers on Amazon - re-uphostel (i know an excellent inexpensive guy);
- currently theres about a 1.5 square foot of ceiling thats been removed there was leakage around two deck hatches (now corrected); you can ignore or DIY repair with wood or Bondo or even hire a pro . ..
- as is common to boats this age, there are numerous superficial cracks in the upper decking gel coat(NOT in the hull); it is highly unlikely youll find a boat of this size and price range without them. You could ignore them (as we have) but itd probably be prudent to address them there is a ton of discussion of this online a good marine paint will do pretty darn-good job cheaply and attractively.
Thats about everything wrong with her again, nothing that stops her from being turn-key. |
Equipment: |
Has a shot-gun mount spinnaker, jib, storm jib, and of course large mainsail. Jib is self-tacking. Lazy-jacks (lets you drop the main without it going in the water).
Safety equipment included (fire extinguishers, life jackets, marine radio, hand-held horn).
Danforth anchor included, second one available if desired.
Propane heater.
