Powered by a reliable Yanmar SB8. Aluminum fuel tank (approx. 12 gallons). GORI folding prop. Impeller replaced and shaft bearings repacked in 2025. Edson Steering with Nexus wind/speed/depth at helm. Manual and Electric Bilge Pumps. VHF Radio. All running rigging is in good shape and standing rigging is in great shape. She has clutches and deck organizers to run all lines aft if you replace the running rigging down the line, as current lines will not fit. (We simply do not use the organizers.) Most hardware is Harken. Double lifelines with boarding gate on starboard. Main/Genoa/Asymmetrical/Symmetrical w/pole All in great shape. The kites still look new. Schaefer Pro-Furl works well. Sails are all stored inside when not in use. The decks are clean and nonskid is Kiwi Grip. The handrails were replaced with stainless in 2022. Newer aluminum-frame sliding windows allow cross ventilation and an opening hatch and passive vent forward provide plenty of air flow. All deck hardware was remounted about 12 years ago. Ablative bottom paint in good shape from 2024. Most of the interior is original and in extremely nice shape. New water tank and hoses with electric faucet in galley and head, none of which we have used. Marine toilet and holding tank were removed and replaced with a new/unused Dometic porta potty. Some new teak in the salon and galley. Kenyon alcohol stove. Deep ice chest with drain pump. Carpet over plywood sole floor. Cushions are original and in fantastic shape other than one missing zipper pull. 6 headroom. Solid Bulkheads. New Companionway board. A Screen companion board and good varnish everywhere. Shore power cord. Life jackets. Danforth and Bruce Anchors with chain and rode. 4 large fenders that clip onto the toe rail. |

One huge benefit is the 2012 Loadmaster trailer custom built for Wind Affair. Dual Axle / 8 adjustable pads / Keel Guide / 25 extension / 2 5/16 ball. Spare wheel is used as a tongue wheel when launching. This trailer is sturdy and has less than 1000 miles. Wind Affair can be easily moved around the Great Lakes, Florida, or anywhere you want to haul her. Trailer was over $7000 in 2012. You cant get one for less than 12k today.
Wind Affair has a reputation for being a beautiful, classy vessel. We have loved her and are sad to see her go after only 3 years, but downsized due to the size of the reservoir we sail and my daughters need for increased accessibility. We hope to see Wind Affair realize her true potential with someone who can get better use out of her than we are now able to. It is rated as a blue water boat and would be excellent on the Great Lakes, where she has already spent plenty of time in her earlier years. |
