Description: |
Designed by renowned British naval architect Robert Clark and one of only eight ever built, MOBY was constructed in England to Lloyds Register standards as an offshore sail training vessel capable of carrying 16 cadets, a captain, and a mate. Every aspect of her design reflects strength, safety, and the confidence to sail beyond the horizon.
We purchased MOBY in 1994, and for the past 32 years she has been much more than a yacht. She became our home, carried us on unforgettable adventures, and has been a cherished member of our family. Now, because of my parents agethey are 78and we are no longer able to care for a vessel of her size, it is time to entrust her to someone who will appreciate what makes her so special.
Powered by a dependable 6-cylinder Perkins diesel engine with less than 300 original hours, MOBY has an exceptional mechanical foundation. Her sail inventory includes a good set of working sails with a generous assortment of sails, gear, and equipment. She is exceptionally well equipped for virtually any kind of cruising.
As with any classic yacht, MOBY has a few items that require attention, and the asking price reflects those needs. She remains an exceptionally solid vessel with beautiful teak varnish, remarkable engineering, and the unmistakable feel of a yacht built during an era when strength came before cost.
