ODay 25CB Summary
Boat is a 1978, the 3rd year of manufacture of about 3000 boats built by ODay.
Colorado titles trailers and registers boats. I have a California title for the boat.
The boat is well built for a small cruiser. Solid glass was used in hulls, and sandwich construction in the deck, no soft spots. Theres a lot of room for a 25 footer.
There is new antifouling paint applied 3 years ago that has never seen water. The standing rigging was replaced in 2018.
The exterior wood has been sanded and refinished this year. (Including the tiller) Companionway hatch board is a painted solid piece of marine ply. Same with the head floor.
The hull has been wet sanded to 1000 grit and polished. The gelcoat is generally in good shape.
The old pump toilet had no holding tank and the thru hulls were improperly installed. They have been replaced with proper seacocks. A new pump toilet could be installed, or theres a brand new porta -potty.
The cushions and covers look to be original. They have been washed.
Theres a 9.9 Suzuki outboard with remote controls. Runs, with new gear and engine oil, new grease in the lower unit, a rebuild kit for the carb, new bolts where needed, and a new 3 gallon gas tank with gas gauge. Needs a couple of little things to finish her up. While the engine is a 98, its had a total of about 300 hours of use, according to the previous owner.
Mast and boom are in excellent shape, and most of the running rigging is also good. The winches work great. Theres a good anchor with about 30 of chain plus over 100 of rode. The previous owner anchored frequently. Stainless is in good shape. No rust or pitting.
The centerboard lifting line was replaced 2018, and made of Dyneema. The board is about 60 lbs, so not intended to act as ballast, which makes lifting it a lot easier.
Sails The main is a few years old, and in decent shape. Still quite crispy. There are 3 headsails. Theres a blue and red jib about 110% overlap that is in good shape. (Brand and age unknown.) There are two North jibs both |
