Designed by Rod Johnstone, it combined genuine offshore capability with quick, responsive sailing and a strong one-design racing culture. Simple, well-balanced, and built to be sailed hard, the J/30 earned a reputation for durability and performancequalities that still make it a respected and competitive classic more than four decades later.

Long time 20 year fussy owner that did not race it. Shows very well with recent hull wax and detailing. Long list of updates and maintenance.

Construction
Smoke White Gelcoat fiberglass hull (original gelcoat) with red boot & cove stripes; buff fiberglass non-skid decks; Micron CSC black antifouling; fin keel; spade rudder; tiller steering w/s.s. extension; bow pulpit; stanchions; new double lifelines, p&s gates; stern pulpit; decks painted in 2015,All hardware powder coated and re seated, new clutches, 3 new Bomar hatches with screens, Harken #32 primary winches, four fixed ports; one opening port; anchor locker; two cockpit lockers.

Accommodations
This yacht sleeps six (6). Anchor rode locker forward; next aft is vee berth forward; storage lockers under; shelves outboard; privacy curtain.
