56.5' 1928 Guillon Classic Schooner designer Andre Mauric

This beautiful schooner made of all wood was designed to race. The details of this boat are remarkable and the brass only adds beauty to the wood. The boat is currently registered in Belgium, but is located in California, U.S. Below is very important history of Elan and why it is so valuable to a real sailor who appreciates a gorgeous schooner. History of Elan
The first owner was Antoine Fayet of Marseille, France who hired Andre Mauric to design this beautiful schooner. The First Name was "Jackie" and sailed in the Mediterranean sea for more than 40 years. There are pictures illustrated in Saint Tropez and Cassis of it's first sailing. Then the boat was sold to Dr. Visquis who renamed it "BOAIII" and registered it in Britain. Then a Colonel Marshall owned it for a bit and in 1939, Colonal Herbert of the Royal Army of London named it "M.Benzi" and registered it in Malte. In 1940, "Elan" was born which is still the name today. The owner was a French Marine who was in Alger. In 1942, Marius Durbec owned it in Algerie. In 1948, "Elan" return to Marseilla after more than 20 years of sailing and survived WWII and the bombing in Africa and then was registered in Saint Tropez. Then there were a few more owners until in 1983 Michel Fallet in Anitra refurbished "Elan". In 1987, an appraisal of the boat was made in the value of 1.791.000 French Francs which then was approximately 354,265.00 dollars. The person who ordered the appraisal was Marc Cudennec who raced sailboats. Then it is known that the Director of L'Oreal owned it for a few years and was known to love to sail.
