Recently installed (2015) Yanmar 3YM30 with under 200 hours, new motor mounts, new hosing, alternator, wiring, no smoke, starts instantly and runs quiet and smooth every time. New transmission, great feathering prop - this boat sails fast and motors beautifully.
All deck hardwear new in 2006 and all ports, hatches and topside hardware (new 2007) removed and rebedded for new topside and alwgrip polyurethane in 2014. New interior polyurithane for cabintop and floor done at the same time, all sprayed, no roller and tip.
The advantages of this boat are many – solid glass hull over 30 mm thick around the bow, never a blister or a soft spot on deck or below, no creaks, no bubbles, never any problems whatsoever in the hull or the deck. Stout construction and well thought modifications show throughout – stainless steel backingplates running down from the rigging to the bulwarks, all external wood rail replaced with 1 inch custom stainless piping, recently rebedded without a single leak in the topsides.
For the price, you will be hard pressed to find a boat in similar condition with similar properties – this boat is a 2 time world champion in the SORC, 2 times winner for Galveston to Veracruz regata (once in class, once over-all), the boat has been modified by its previous owner and by myself as a cruising vessel, adding 80 gallons of aluminum tanks for fresh water, 30 gallons for diesel, (plus 5 in reserve) Monitor windvane Fully battened dacron main (2005), and kevlar reinforced spectra Genoa and Jib (2006) in fair condition, recently (late 2013) patched minor holes and repaired stitching on all sails.
