The sailboat is a 1975 S-2 Center Cockpit 8 M with inboard Universal Atomic 4 engine.
It is a shallow draft (2'2") with a long shallow keel. It has IOR influence in its design with a relatively large fore triangle (jib) and a mainsail with reconditioned mast by Keyes Rigging Co. making it faster than many.
It would be a great Keys cruising sailboat, but is still a fast sailor. It might give up a few degrees to windward without the deep keel, but also is easier to put on the trailer and launch. It weighs about 6000 lbs. It is a US Coast Guard documented vessel documented since new.
The center cockpit with wheel steering and pedestal allows a back cabin as well as the forward cabin.
It was totally rebuilt in February 2014 by the Marathon Boat Yard to nearly new specs. (receipts available)
It could be a very satisfactory live aboard.
Recent upgrades include:
Major rebuild of engine Atomic 4 -- 4-5 years ago. Less than 50 hours after rebuild.
2 new batteries with switch and charger. (No make before break. Turn off engine before switching to save the alternator.)
New life lines. Nov 2013
Pedestal and cockpit mount refiberglassed. Nov 2013
Electric fuel pump now connected to ignition.
Stop cocks on water intake. (Nov 2013)
New gaskets on hatches. (Nov 2013)
New compass install on pedestal.
New alcohol stove in box.

Bottom paint. (Nov 2013)
In fresh water until recently, used only 5 times in salt water in the past 2 years.
Mast as above (Nov 2013) and back stay replaced.
Extra prop if desired.
New interior cushions. Older cockpit cushions.

Electric bilge pump on control panel, fuel pump now connected to ignition.
Trailer rebuilt 5-6 years ago. New tires 3 years ago.
New bearings and seals and brakes (Nov 2013)
Stolen front bearing buddies. May need to check front axles.
Shaft repacked Nov 2013 on Atomic 4
