38' ALPA Milano Italy 11.50 Sailing Yacht S&S Design

Classic Sparkman and Stephens design, "Alpa 1150" on the hard in RI. Motivated seller, if not sold before spring, boat will be cleaned up and used for bareboat charters. LOA: 38ft, LWL: 26'8". New Paint, some new equipment, sails,spinnaker, in summer 2014. Sails extremely well, responsive and sea-kindly. Displaces 13,700 lb., Ballast 5,200 lb. Yanmar 3 cylinder diesel and matched transmission has very low hours, runs like a top. Prop was changed to match the drivetrain upon installation. Filters and fluids always changed seasonally since new in @ 2002, despite only being used primarily to get off the mooring, and sips the fuel. Boat was being prepped for long range travel and cruising - regrettably, had to walk away from those plans, due to health issues, which forces sale. Owned by lifelong sailor, and VERY well maintained until the fall of 2014. Currently, the boat needs some cleaning, some brightwork, light gelcoat repairs to small deck areas, could use an electronics update, but has GPS, VHF, etc, and could be splashed and sailed anywhere with the addition of a couple batteries, and the cosmetics can be addressed at a later date. Comes with all gear that has been accumulated over the years - tools, safety gear, spare sails, grill, spare pumps,etc. Extremely knowledgeable son (mechanic, chief engineer, rigger, Renaissance Man in general) is restoring a boat nearby, and can meet with any interested parties, answer any questions, and can provide assistance post-sale with the right buyers to help get the boat where they would like to be. We are realistic sellers, who understand the market, and are willing to entertain offers and both cash / trade offers - but 10k cash must be involved, for medical expense reasons. List of marine related items we would accept in trade is available, or try us - we have 3 other boats in the family to equip also.
Winter storage is paid for the 2016-2017 season, until May 1, 2017, in a great yard that allows for owner and subcontractor work, with electrical and water on site.

SAILS-Main with Dutchman flaking system and jiffy reef points, 2 genoas, cruising spinnaker and spares for all. Binnacle mounted Ritchie Compass.

ELECTRONICS: Datamarine windspeed and direction, knotmeter, speed and distance logs, Raytheon ST-6000 below deck autopilot with remote and cockpit control. 12VDC with 3 batteries, 110 VAC shore setup, automatic battery charger

DECK GEAR: 6 winches including self tailing Barient 27-48 primaries, Furlex genoa Furler with spare base assembly, double lifelines, twin stem head anchor rollers with 35lb Bruce mounted on on and also a backup anchor with separate ground tackle, Maxwell chain/rope windlass (needs work and forward battery imstalled), 2 deck vents plus 11 opening ports and hatches, wind scoop for forward hatch, cockpit awning, stainless bimini/dodger setup, fenders, docklines, cockpit cushions and new interior cushion set 2014.

PLUMBING SYSTEM:Pressurized hot and cold water throughout, hot water heater probably needs work, electric head with manual backup, shower, holding tank. 30 gal. diesel, 100 gallon water tank set in keel.
