1978 Prairie 32 LOA: 31’ 8” Beam: 11’ Draft: 4 ’6” Displacement: 8 tons (net) Aux. Power: Yanmar 3QM30H Bridge Clearance: 49’ 6” The boat was being prepared for another solo Trans Atlantic (it has completed several previously). All hull deck bolts were replaced. Deck hardware rebidded and replaced as needed. The largest of thru hulls replaced and all were rebidded following removal and inspection. The chain plates, pintles and gudgeons were removed, inspected and rebidded with new bolts. Sail inventory includes a number of new, never used sails (main, genoa, staysail and tri), along with a storm staysail, older main sail. The hull has been stripped below the waterline of all gelcoat and received coats of epoxy resin prior to the bottom anti fouling. Topsides and deck painted with a two part epoxy. Rudder cheek stock removed, underside epoxied and rebidded using new hardware. Monitor self steering unit is older, but serviceable with some spares included. Yet to be addressed ………………. Fuel tank (plastic) to be rebidded or replaced. Rewire and replace engine instruments (panel). Electrical panel should be replaced. The galley has been removed and needs to be replaced (stove, sink and cabinetry). I suspect the ice box should also be replaced. Several partial bulkheads, interior trim and various surfaces (overhead, finish cabin sole, ceiling) need to be installed. Some cushions should be recovered. |
