Description: |
The Carl Alberg designed Cape Dory 28 is a classic and a collector's boat. One of the first made, At Ease II was built in 1974 in West Bridgewater Mass., and is marked hull number 4 on the transom (see picture). The CD28 was designed as an offshore boat as was publicized when "Fenix" (not this boat - another CD28) completed a circumnavigation. The features which make it suitable for offshore sailing include the nearly 3,600lb full keel and heavy duty hardware and rigging. She races quickly through the water and can be sailed in conditions other similar boats might not be safe in. At Ease II is a United States Coast Guard registered vessel, which means state registration is optional. She is kept immaculately clean. The boat is in the water on a mooring and is ready to sail or motor away. All pics were taken in the last two months. Sailing pics were just taken 9/23/17 while sailing in Fishers Island Sound. |
