CATBIRD is a classic modified full keel design by Chuck Burns. Very solid construction and only 18 were made right here is the Bay Area.
Equipment:
-new main sail cover -new sunbrella material for 100% roller furler jib sail -recut smaller jib to about 80%, new sunbrella material for roller furler -removed and rebeaded all ports -new Raymarine depth sounder and tiller pilot -all new bronze through hole valves (minus one, which should be replaced on next haul out) -new CQR anchor with 60ft of high test chain and 200ft of rode and added new anchor holder/guide -replaced rudder post with longer solid bronze shaft, new delrin bearing sleeves and bronze rudder pivots -garmin gps -rebuilt top end of engine (new head gasket) -new prop shaft and 3 blade prop -added fuel tank inspection hatch -added used storm trisail -new 90 amp hour batteries this year (2 deep cycle) -added anti siphon loops to head intake and discharge
Previous owner replaced the mast step which was one of the weak points on the boat and replaced the underwater gelcoat with an epoxy barrier coat.
