Description: |
1984 Tartan 28. Rhapsody was purchased in December of 2015 and sailed and maintained regularly until last year when schedule got too busy so I have decided to sell. This has been a great boat that is easy to sail and maintain. At this point however she needs some TLC.
First and foremost, there was a small oil leak that turned out to be a crack in the engine block. I have purchased a new block and have had the engine pulled and it is currently being rebuilt. **Current price reflects the boat and the new block if you want to buy the boat as-is and pay for the engine rebuild when it is completed. Once the rebuild is complete, if I have not yet sold the boat, the price will have to be adjusted accordingly.
Bottom job likely needed. I have kept it clean using my SCUBA gear but havent done it in awhile.
She also could use some general cleanup on the exterior and the interior wood around a couple of the windows is stained from previous water leaks but I now have a custom cover over the cabin top that keeps rain water out.
These boats in top shape run around 20,000.00 or a little more. I am asking 12,500.00 or best offer but this will go up some once the engine rebuild is complete. With a little TLC, she can be back in tip-top shape.

Equipment: |
Yanmar 2GMF 13 HP Diesel engine, has always ran great and never had a major issue until recent oil leak. Fuel tank pulled last year by me and cleaned and filled with fresh fuel with additive added. I keep the vent line unplugged from the top of the tank to keep moisture from getting inside and I plug it in when I take her out sailing. The moisture separator Racor filter was also replaced at the same time the fuel tank was cleaned. RPM gauge also replaced within the last two years.
1 main sail, 1 roller furling 135 Genoa, 2 Hank-on headsails, and 1 spinnaker with rigging. I have only used the main sail and the 135 Genoa. I have never used the spinnaker or the Hank-on head sails.
Depth & speed-speed transducer has to be cleaned and freed up on occasion. Compass.
Life jackets, throw cushions, and a few odds and ends. |
