I removed all of the old bottom paint to reveal the epoxy barrier coat that was applied years ago. I then applied 3 coats or two gallons of bottom paint. This took place at Glades Boat Yard the second half of April 2021. Since then she has only been in fresh water so no growth. The standing rigging has been replaced and looks very good. This is great boat boat that was lightly used and was kept at the previous owners home in a fresh water canal for the past 15 years. He didn't use it much because it took 4 hours to get to the Gulf Coast to sail.
This is a fantastic cruiser with plenty of space and storage for long term adventures. The large aft cabin has a double birth ( 6'7" long by 6' wide and a private head. The fore birth sleeps two smaller or one average and shares the second head with the main cabin. Westerly Marine Construction of Hampshire, England was one of Europe's leading builders of Fiberglass Sailboats from mid 1960 through mid 1990. All Westerly yachts are built certified to Lloyds of London standards for quality and safety. In 1988 the price of the boat was $165.000.00 and now at $28k this is a great value.
This boat sails well in heavy or light winds. The roller reefing 120% Head sail is in very good condition, as is the triple reefing Main Sail. Equipped with 2 speed winches and quality gear makes handling easy and enjoyable. I do have several projects to complete such as replacing the bimini top and spray dodger with new canvas and replacing the fresh water tank but the boat is ready to travel now and I would be available to deliver it to your dock or assisting you with the delivery.
