Description:
It is a tough, tough decision but we putting our beloved New Sensation up for sale. She is a Tanton-44 (aka CT-44) (https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/ct-44) and hull 8 of 16. Designed by Yves Tanton and built in the CT yard in 1983, designed to be a fast(er) blue water cruiser. We have had her offshore and can attest to her incredibly solid build and handling in heavy weather.

Equipment:
Many of the boat specs can be found on the link above but some additional information since these were all semi-custom:
- Skeg hung rudder
- Drafts 6ft
- should have had her weighed when hauled in August but comes in about 20k lbs loaded up
- Interior was designed for off-shore sailing with tons of handholds and placing to balance ones self in swell
- 2 berths, one head with shower
- Engine is a Perkins 4.108 with about 3500 hours. Previous owners to us put the hour meter on so total hours is a guess. Engine runs great, starts up every time first time. Cruises at 6.5 kts using 0.75 gal/hour
- Fuel tanks carry 95 gallons. There is a third tank that could carry another 44 gallons but is currently carrying kerosene for the webasto heater. This could easily be converted back. In fact, it is already set-up as a last resort back up tank for engine fuel (never utilized).
- Carries 141 gallons of water across three tanks.
- Holding tank is 17 gallons. Two options for overboard discharge direct and macerator from the tank
- Anchor windlass is newer and works great. Ground tackle includes 20kg Delta with 225 feet of chain and additional 70 of nylon line. Have a stern 15 kg Danforth and a 35kg storm anchor, also Danforth
- All instruments are fairly new around 2015-18 and includes chart plotter, radar, Vesper AIS, and of course typical wind, depth, speed sensors and stations
- Auto-pilot does not currently work consistently. When we bought it the original Alpha 3000 wasnt working and prior to last passage we replaced head with a Pelagic which was working great for the first 200 miles and then worked intermittently. We have not done the trouble-shooting yet but most likely is a bad connection between Pelagic and motor or possibly bad motor. The motor is newer so it is most likely the former.
- For heat both a Webasto and a Dickinson Antarctic. Both can toast you out if you want
Some of the updates we have done in the last year
- All eight batteries of the house bank were replaced with 100 amp/hour AGMs last July
- 375 watts solar added to dinghy davits in July 2020. This compliments the existing thee 75 watt panels on the deck. The ones on the deck are older and while they do produce power, we were planning on removing them and opening deck space
- New RIB in October 2020
- New electric motor for RIB in October 2020. Works great but for many uses is would need to be replaced with a gas motor
- New bottom pain August 2021
- New motor mounts August 2021
- New cutlass August 2021. At this time also checked shaft for trueness (it was fine) and aligned motor
- EPIRB added July 2021
- New Life raft with manufacture date of June 2021

There is some basic information. Happy to answer question from anyone seriously looking/considering via DM.
