DESCRIPTION: Catalina produced more than 6,600 of their 27-footers making her one of the most successful and popular designs. Girl of the North has a tall, deck-stepped, masthead rig, which enhances her speed, when she is driven with her wheel under sail or her Universal diesel inboard -- with a top speed of 6.25 kts. She is clean, well maintained, and in great condition. She is fast enough for racing and comfortable enough for cruising. She is fast, agile, and easy to sail as a coastal racer/cruiser.
A wide companionway connects the roomy main cabin/galley (6'headroom) to an efficient and comfortable cockpit large enough for socializing. Includes a stern gate with swim ladder. The V-berth, quarter berth and pull-out settee provide sleeping for 5.
The fold-out table in the main cabin stows on the bulkhead when not in use. There is plenty of storage throughout, including a hanging locker. Ventilation is very good with the large companionway and 3 deck hatches.
Girl of the North has many recent upgrades including new electrical/electronic systems, engine overhaul and many safety features. All lines lead aft to the cockpit for safety and easy access. Great for family or single-handed sailing.
After 15 years of sailing the Apostle Islands on Lake Superior, the owners are forced to sell due to health concerns. Their Slip at Schooner Bay Marina, in the heart of the Apostle Islands, may be available. Boat has everything you will need for a summer of fun in the islands. |
