REDUCED TO SELL 1983 S2 11.0A Well respected designer, Arthur Edmunds, wrote the book on boat design and construction, "Designing Power & Sail". Of the three notable builders of his designs, Chris-Craft, Wright/Allied and S2, all of the S2 line were his designs. Located in Holland, Michigan, S2 was founded by boating industry legend, Leon Slikkers. When he sold his powerboat company, he built a new plant which was, at the time, a model for production-line efficiency and strict quality control. Quality was responsible for many things - performance, design-integrity and sailing satisfaction. Building 158 S2 Yachts from 1974 to 1989, Bodacious is hull 63. With an efficient hull design, powerful rig, and substantial ballast, the 11 meter S2 cruisers are sure-footed as the wind increases. She has more sail area than a 35' Pretorien, is heavier than a Catalina 36 with a higher motion comfort number, and will be more comfortable. The layout of Bodacious is efficient, open, warm, and inviting. Descending the companionway from the large cockpit, the U-shaped galley is to port and nav station with chart table starboard. Aft of the nav station extends a double berth beneath the starboard cockpit lazarette. Forward of the galley is the U-shaped convertible settee with seating for six (folds into double berth), and a settee/single berth on starboard. Forward of the settee to port is the large head with shower and a hanging locker on starboard. A large (7' 4") V-berth in the forepeak has stowage beneath and to either side. Forward of the V-berth is the chain locker. The interior is finished in teak with a teak and holly sole. The layout is comfortable and efficient without being cramped or awkward. Headroom is 6' 3" / Sleeps Six (family friendly). Original working engine starts and runs with ease. This boat would make a great cruiser or live aboard. Needs new main sail. |
