50' Formosa Hudson Force 50

The Hudson Force 50 was build in 1974 after the design of the famous naval architect William Garden, These boats are well known and loved by sailors and cruisers worldwide, not only because they starred in a few Hollywood movies like Captain Ron or 50 first dates but for her solid structures, her classy design with lots of space and her amazing interiors.

ZERO was meticulously rebuild, refitted and upgraded by the current owner for the last 10 years. She still has the classy looks but is loaded with modern equipment to make living on her pure joy. EVERYTHING on ZERO was inspected, rebuild or replaced during that time. No exceptions!

The owner, a german architect, did a tremendous job and improved her to a status better than new, with only the best materials available, very smart details and a passion second to none. The list of brand names installed on this boat reads like the who is who in the marine Industry.
None of the known 'problems' these boats seem to have, exist on ZERO.
She was refitted for functionality, safety and independency for extended cruising.

During that time she had her decks completely rebuild, a very common problem on these boats which some ' solve ' by drilling holes and fill them with epoxy, not so on this boat! The owner replaced the whole core with marine grade plywood in an extreme professional way. That makes her decks solid as a rock and will probably outlast any new owner by decades.
The rudder, the spars, standing and running rigging, all winches replaced with self tailing winches, motor and transmission, all plumbing, most of the electric installation, new decks boxes, windlass, complete new barrier cote and an amazingly designed and handcrafted hard dodger are just a few of the projects finished. And all of it nicely documented.

She's equipped with the full suite of modern b&g electronics with anything you might need, smartly chosen to reach a level of safety and comfort every sailor dreams of. She has huge water and diesel tanks and a water maker.
Her interior design gives plenty room in 2 big cabins with en-suite heads, sleeps 6 easy more if needed and has tons of storage.

She carries 1.400 watt on solar panels, nicely integrated into the design of the radar arch and dodger, so they don't dominate the overall look. They are separated into 2 complete independent systems in case 1 starts malfunctioning the other keeps your beers cold.

Additional there is the best and undoubtedly most silent wind generator on the market which supplies energy even when the sun takes a break and adds consistent power to the batteries especially when on passage. The battery banks are huge and proven big enough for extended cruising to areas where no shore power ever will go. ZERO wasn't plugged in a single day for the last 2 years. The generator is mostly for emergencies or running tools if needed.

A proven blue water sailing yacht. She provides comfort and safety on anchor or out on the ocean, doesn't matter if you choose the tropics or the high latitudes, single handed or with crew.

She crossed the Pacific 4 times in the last 6 years with 1 solo crossing from Hawaii to Alaska and just finished the last one with over 4.500nm sailing from Tahiti to San Diego, most of the time against the wind, without any damage to the boat, systems or the 2 crew.
She is truly ready to go and you can leave for your adventures literally the next day.
